Pentrical is a documentation hub for design systems. You write your guidelines - colour, typography, components, tone of voice - and connect them to your Figma files. Readers see not only what the team has agreed, but the exact measurements, colours and tokens from the design itself, kept current automatically on every sync.

Teams and agencies that work in Figma and want their design system documented without it becoming a second job: product teams of a few people up to agencies with dozens of editors and a hub per client. For large organisations with requirements like SAML single sign-on we are frankly not the best choice - our comparison pages tell you exactly when a competitor fits better.

A browser, and - for the Figma connection - a Figma account with access to your design files. Your readers need nothing at all: no account, no Figma licence, just the link.

Any language - the content is entirely yours. Pentrical's own interface is available in English and Dutch.

One documentation site with its own address, its own content and its own look. A company with two brands wants two, an agency with six clients wants six. The free plan includes one hub, Starter two, Team unlimited.

Every registration starts with 14 days of free trial at Starter level, no credit card. You work on your own Figma files, not on a demo. At the end you choose deliberately: activate a paid plan, switch to the free plan, or do nothing.

Nothing quietly turns into a subscription - there is no card on file to charge. Your environment becomes read-only first, so you can still look at everything and export it, and is deleted after a while. Activate a plan in the meantime and everything is back instantly.

One editor, one hub, five Figma files and a public documentation site - forever, with no time limit. For a design system maintained by one person that is a working setup, not a teaser. You outgrow it at the moment the system outgrows one person.

Connecting Figma and importing a file is a matter of minutes; the first sync brings in components, measurements, colours and tokens by itself. Plan an afternoon to arrange your categories and write the first guidelines. There is no importer to configure and no structure you have to design up front.

Not with one click. Zeroheight's API terms prohibit export integrations built by competitors, so we deliberately do not build that import; Notion exports to Markdown and that text pastes over fine. In practice teams move the pages that still matter and leave the rest - Pentrical rebuilds the specifications and images fresh from Figma anyway.

Anyone who can change something: write a page, adjust a component description, connect a Figma file. People who only read do not count.

No, never. Readers are free and unlimited on every plan, including the free one. Invite the whole engineering team, the product managers and your clients - your invoice does not change. You only pay for the people who write.

You remove them under team management and the seat is immediately free for someone else - nothing to cancel, nothing to settle. If you had bought extra editor seats you no longer need, you scale them back at any moment; the difference is settled on your next invoice.

Yes. You pay pro rata for the rest of the period, and the new number applies from the next period on. Scaling back works the same way, in reverse.

Two: members and owners. Members edit documentation; owners additionally manage the team, access settings and the subscription. With several hubs you decide per team member which hubs they can work in - what someone cannot see simply does not exist for them.

It reads your design files and extracts screens, measurements, colours, text styles and tokens, which you then show on documentation pages. When the design changes, one sync updates everything - no screenshots going stale, no retyped values.

No. The connection is strictly read-only; we only request read permissions from Figma in the first place. Nothing in your files is ever changed, added or removed.

No. You connect the files; your readers see the results in the documentation and in the interactive viewer - including measurements and colours per element - without a Figma account.

Five on the free plan, fifty on Starter and two hundred on Team. For most teams their plan's limit is generous; if you do run into it, get in touch.

No, we only connect to Figma. If your team works in Sketch or XD, Zeroheight is the better choice - we say the same on our comparison page.

That is up to you, per hub: public (anyone with the link), behind a shared password (for an external agency, say), or your signed-in team only. Individual categories can have their own setting on top - locking one work-in-progress category while the rest stays public is perfectly possible.

Every save keeps a version you can restore - 7 days on the free plan, 90 on Starter, 180 on Team - so a mistake is not a disaster. Your environment is separated from other customers' down to the database queries, and you can always export your documentation. We hold nothing hostage.

In the European Union, on servers in Germany. For a European organisation that means: no paragraph about international transfers in your processing records.

Yes. The data processing agreement is published on our website and is part of the terms; you do not have to ask for it or negotiate it.

No, Pentrical is a cloud service and will stay one - we could not support self-hosting well, and supporting it halfway is worse than an honest no. What you do always have: your data lives in the EU and everything is exportable.

No. If SSO is a hard requirement from your security team, Zeroheight Enterprise is the better choice - we would rather say that here than halfway through your trial.

Only what you allow. The MCP server is read-only, and you decide per category and per Figma file what is readable for AI tools; what you exclude does not exist for those tools - not even the name. It changes nothing about what people see in the browser.

Through Paddle, our merchant of record. Paddle handles the payment, the invoicing and the VAT; you automatically receive an invoice by email. You see the total amount before you confirm.

The methods Paddle offers in your country - card at minimum, often supplemented with local methods.

All prices exclude VAT. At checkout, Paddle automatically applies the correct VAT based on your country and, for businesses, your VAT number.

Yes, at any time, straight from your billing screen. Moving to yearly or to a bigger plan takes effect immediately, with the difference settled; moving back to monthly takes effect when your paid year ends - you already own that year, after all.

The monthly subscription per month, the yearly one per year. After cancelling, your subscription simply runs to the end of the paid period; then your environment stays read-only for 30 days so you can export everything. Come back within that time and activating a subscription restores it all instantly.

It stays reachable until the end of your paid period, then read-only for 30 days for export, and is only deleted after that. A tool that holds your documentation hostage the moment you stop paying is a tool nobody should trust - so we don't.
